Tannin extraction plant model
My next model is a tannin extraction plant. This plant will have a number of structures and details so it will occupy me for a while. The tannin is extracted from tree bark and is used by tanneries. The first structure is a bark shed (no dogs involved).
This shed is located track-side for delivery of bark by rail car. There will be a ramp to allow for the bark to be dumped in the wide front opening.
The rear view shows the opening where the bark will be transferred to the chipping shop behind the bark shed. The bark shed has a corrugated metal roof. The walls were built board by board.
Above is a view of the bark inside the shed. I gathered the bark from a dead evergreen tree on my property. I broke the large pieces of bark into small pieces.
