Bark cart model

I have built a bark cart to move the bark from the bark shed to the chipper shop.  It is a hand pushed cart and has a load of bark.

There is a dog sitting behind the worker pushing the cart - a real barker.

I have started on the power house will get some photos in a few days.

Meanwhile below are some photos of a model RR vest my wife made for me many years ago to hold the patches and pins I got from model RR conventions and other sources.

Bark chipping shop complete

The second structure of the tannin extraction plant model is complete.  It contains the chipping machine shown in the previous post, but as usual it is difficult to see the machine inside the building.

The floor insides littered with bark and bark dust.  The bark from the bark shed is supplied to the chipping machine though this door.

There are some bark information posters on the outside wall.  The device on the right side rear of the roof is an electrical connection that will be used to provide electrical power from the power house which is the next structure I will build.

Above is a view of the rear of the chipping shop.  The chipped bark dust is removed through this door.

Chipping shop model

The second structure of the extract plant is the chipping shop.  This shop grinds the bark into small pieces sort of like sawdust.  The most complicated part of this model was the bark cutter machine.  My model is close to the prototype but not exact.

This machine was constructed with plastic, card stock and metal parts.

An image of the prototype is below.

I have partially built the structure for the chipper as shown below.

This is proving to be an interesting modeling project.
